Kelley Winslow told a lie at the end of Darklight to try to protect the boy she loves. Now they’re separated (yet again), and Kelley must find out not only who is trying to take Sonny’s magick and making a mess of things in the Faerie realm but how to use her own powers. Meanwhile, Sonny finds himself hiding out with Lost Fae and nursing his hurt feelings. He could hide out with them forever, having fun and playing games, but he pulls himself away, just to find himself pulled into the larger danger he has no idea is surrounding him.
As Kelley and Sonny each take steps to try to right the wrongs that are going on in the Faerie realm, and spilling over into the mortal world, they are able to take steps back toward each other, and to their true selves.
In Tempestuous, Lesley Livingston pulls together all the pieces of story that she started spinning in her first two books and concludes a satisfying series.
