“Traitor. Tormented. Destined for each other.”

Ilya is in complete turmoil! Paedyn Gray has survived the Purging Trials as an Ordinary. She is now fleeing from something far deadlier—Kai, the prince. After conspiring with the Resistance and killing the king, she is now prey to the prince she was falling for.

Kai has sworn loyalty to Ilya’s new king, his brother, as his Enforcer. His first mission is to hunt down the woman who killed their father. Kai will have to pursue Paedyn across the deadly Scorches, into the city of Dor, and more. In a city without Elites, the battle between duty and love is tested.

Reckless is just as good and the first book in the series, Powerless. I could not put it down. The story was filled with magic, struggle between duty for the king and love, and adventure. The ending will leave you wanting the next book!

Rated: Moderate. There are about 10-15 uses of mild language and a few uses of Deity’s name. Several fighting scenes throughout the book and description of bleeding but not overly gory. Romantically: passionate kissing, sleeping together, no sex.
