Alexis Montgomery comes from a world of wealth and high achievement. She’s practically royalty at the prestigious hospital where she works as an ER doctor in Minneapolis. Her parents are both doctors; her father comes from a line of doctors who have been working and helping to fund and run that same hospital for 125 years. To say she faces expectations, has some obligations, is an understatement.

She’s also recently broken up with a plastic surgeon who appears perfect but who emotionally abused her for years. Her parents don’t understand and would prefer she get back together with him.

As she’s driving through a small town a couple of hours away, her car goes into a ditch, and she’s rescued by a man who is mayor of that small town and runs a B&B in his family’s longtime home there.

Daniel Grant is ruggedly handsome, a talented woodworker and kind — and has obligations of his own. His flighty mother wants him to sell the gorgeous old home and he is desperate to figure out how to keep it, though his savings and actual income stream are pretty low.

The two hit it off immediately, and though neither is a one-night-stand kind of person, they have one. Their chemistry is undeniable. Alexis goes back to work and all the stresses she faces, and while she tells herself she can’t possibly have a relationship with Daniel, she thinks about him a lot.

So she drives back to see him. And then she keeps visiting. She feels comfortable and relaxed in his company and the little town, but Alexis knows there’s no way Daniel could fit in her world of wealth, fancy fundraisers and sophisticated friends. Plus, she’s a decade older than he is. How could they possibly both take care of their obligations and be who they’re supposed to be, when they and their lives are such opposites?

Part of Your World is an absolutely charming love story. It tackles serious issues, such as emotional abuse, with honesty and sensitivity, while developing a solid rapport between these two good people who want to do the right thing and who are nursing some tender parts of their hearts. They grow together and learn from each other, and finding out how they are able to make something work is impossible not to smile about. I so enjoyed this romance and want to read more by Abby Jimenez.

Rated: High. Profanity includes almost 40 uses of strong language, around 45 instances of moderate profanity, about 75 uses of mild language, and about 50 instances of the name of Deity in vain. Sexual content includes a number of sex scenes; several are “off-screen”/”closed-door”; a few are fairly short, and a couple have more details. They aren’t very lengthy. This book’s sex scenes aren’t nearly as detailed as some others popular right now, like Christina Lauren’s or Emily Henry’s.
