Great books to get free on Kindle Unlimited, part 2

great books to read on Kindle Unlimited, part 2

This is my second in what will be four posts (so far). Check out the first here.

If you have a Kindle Unlimited subscription, you have access to millions of book titles that you can read for free. But let’s face it: you have no idea what their content is, and you don’t know if they’re any good.

But you can depend on Rated Reads for help. Here’s another list of books we’ve reviewed on Rated Reads that we’ve enjoyed AND that are rated Moderate or lower.

  1. The Good Sister, by Sally Hepworth. This mystery/suspense/thriller novel focuses on two sisters, one of which has always relied on the other to help her navigate the world and correctly read social cues. The other is longing for a baby. It’s rated moderate.
  2. A Happy Catastrophe, by Maggie Dawson. This romance/women’s fiction book is a sequel of sorts to an earlier novel. A man and woman who have been together for four years get a surprise when he finds out he has an 8-year-old daughter. Rated moderate.
  3. Ascending and Bright Shards are two science fiction books by Meg Pechenik. A linguist learns an alien language after a visit by representatives of that civilization 25 years earlier. When they come again, she’s invited on a kind of exchange program. Very cool and smart books. Rated moderate.
  4. The Breakdown, by B.A. Paris. This mystery/suspense/thriller book focuses on a woman who’s either getting dementia or being gaslighted. Rated mild.
  5. Timebound (the first in the Chronos Files series), by Rysa Walker. This young adult science fiction book/series focuses on time travel. It’s rated mild.
  6. The Paper Magician series, by Charlie N. Holmberg. This young adult series features a young apprentice learning how to work magic with paper. Our reviewer posted a review of the third book, The Master Magician. Rated mild.
  7. Kingdom from Ashes (the first in the Kingdom Saga series), by Megan Linski. This young adult book has adventure in an exotic land, hidden magic, daring escapes, blossoming romance, and a dark force threatening on the the horizon. Rated mild.
  8. Off to Be the Wizard (first in Magic 2.0 series), by Scott Meyer. Craig said this book is a delightful and thought-provoking story clearly directed toward nerds of every generation. Rated none.
  9. The Testing (first in The Testing series), by Joelle Charbonneau. This young adult dystopian book is a quick, engaging read, Melissa said. Rated moderate for younger readers, mild for adults.
  10. Divine Rivals (first in the Letters of Enchantment series), by Rebecca Ross. This young adult fantasy romance takes readers to an alternate World War I-inspired world where gods clash, destinies entwine, and love blooms bright against the darkness. Rated moderate.
