Content ratings for Oprah book club picks of 2022

Oprah book club picks from 2022

Celebrity book clubs are very popular; Oprah’s original iteration during her daytime talk show certainly got people reading. For the past few years, she’s been sharing a pick every few months, four to a year. Here, I’m sharing the Oprah book club list from 2022.

Three out of four of these are rated high, and one is moderate, but close to mild. And Barbara Kingsolver’s Demon Copperhead is absolutely jam-packed with strong profanity, so it’s not just high; it’s sky-high.

All of these are Rapid Ratings, mostly because of my own reading preferences. I did a more thorough scan of Martha Beck’s nonfiction book The Way of Integrity because it didn’t have much obvious content that would indicate an easy rating for me to give. If you’re interested, it’s pretty low on offensive content.

So here are the 2022 Oprah Book Club picks, from the end of the year down to the beginning. I am listing the rating here but you can click on each title to read my full review and rating details.

Demon Copperhead, Barbara Kingsolver – High

That Bird Has My Wings, Jarvis Jay Masters –  High

Nightcrawling, Leila Mottley – High

The Way of Integrity, Martha Beck – Moderate
