Tandy Angel and her three siblings were in the apartment the night her parents were murdered. She was the last person to see Malcolm and Maud alive, and the police have no suspects besides Tandy and her brothers.

As fragments of memories and past experiences resurface and dark family secrets come to light, Tandy sets out to clear her family name and discover the truth once and for all. But digging into her parents’ affairs is a disturbing and dangerous game, and all Tandy can be sure of is that she cannot trust anyone — maybe not even herself.

I pulled out Confessions of a Murder Suspect on a whim one day when I was in the mood for a good mystery, and boy, did this book deliver! The mystery kept me guessing until the end and featured enough loose threads and unanswered questions that left me curious to find out what the future might hold for the Angel kids.

Tandy is a strong-voiced character, and despite the grievances of the past, she remains unfalteringly loyal to her family. She and her brothers have been through a lot of hurt, but in the end, forgiveness, love, and the bond of family make them strong enough to endure tragedy.

Rated: Moderate (though it could border on mild), for harsh topics and situations, including emotional abuse and suicide. There are a few instances of mild language and a few uses of the name of Deity. Sexual content includes quite a few references to sexual relationships and secret affairs. A boy moons an officer. Tandy and several others give the middle finger to a group of restaurant patrons. In defiance of her parents, Tandy attends a high-school party featuring underage drinking.
